Till 1955, facilities for higher education did not exist in Bharuch. It was some time in Oct.1954 when Revered Swami Shri Atulanandji happened to come to Bharuch in connection with his Chaturmas and having come to know that this town had no facility for college education in Bharuch, Accordingly Shri S’ad Vidya Mandal was set up in Oct.1954 in Bharuch and established Shree Jayendrapuri Arts and Science College in June 1955 beginning with Arts Faculty and then Science Faculty in 1958.
