Tapi district General information

Tapi district is one of the districts of Gujarat state in western India. Vyara town is the district headquarters. The area of the district is 2951.10 km². The district has a population of 719,634 (2001 census).

History

On October 2, 2007, this district was formed by bifurcating erstwhile Surat district. The newly formed district consisted of five talukas of erstwhile Surat district.
